Mosquito SS4 prototype under way

New parts have been ordered from OZ Optics for a new Mosquito design. The goal is to reduce feedback into the laser, which renders the laser unstable. For more on the problem open this document

Francois, Tibi and Jonathan have been very instrumental in this new effort.  


Optical Layout

Electronics 

The electronics for this new Mosquito has been redesigned to include a reference signal. A first design has been completed and and a first prototype has been built. It is currently being tested. Frederic D. is working on it - see below. 

We have discussed 2 options: 
  1. use the monitor PD in the LD 
  2. split the laser output in 2, and use a small portion as reference.

Follow new development on the laser driver - open document. We are shrinking the electronics of the Mosquito to fit into a shot-glass.
