Description

Design a new type of joint-type transducer using elastomers (PDMS and other types of silicon rubbers) and PMMA fibers. These transducers are intended to be used with the LED Mosquito.

Short-term goals

  • Develop the molds and molding technique for 250um, 500um and 1000um PMMA fiber.
  • Test forts prototypes

  • Find proper materials for the transducer and for the molds
  • Find the proper molding techniques
  • perform optical testing on prototype and optimize sensitivity
