This project is on hold now...

Project description

Install a Mosquito scientific instrument in Dr. Sabah Hussein's lab, at Royal Victoria Hospital (McGill University, Montreal). The system will be used to
investigate skeletal muscle dysfunction in sepsis. In general outline, we are going to measure contractility of the skeletal muscles isolated from mice after the injection of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS, - which induces pathological changes in muscle tissue) and compare with the contractile properties of muscles taken from control mice. Dramatic loss of the contractile force after the LPS injection to be expected.
