Sensor Staccs is a simple, low-cost, modular, and entirely open-source way to transform what you want to measure, into data on the cloud.

The idea is simple, there are 4 layers in your Sensor Stacc:

  1. Sensors

  2. Hub

  3. Cloud Connectors

  4. Cloud Account

Choose the sensors you want, the controller(s) you need, how to connect to the cloud, stack them together with our web app, and that’s it - your data will be waiting for you on the cloud. You can view it online, download it as a spreadsheet, or access it directly through our API.


Despite the growing number of tools for data analysis, a blossoming DIY & hacker culture, and the emerging Internet of Things, there is still no simple, low-cost way to generate clean, cloud-stored, uniform, time-series data from an array of different sensors.


These are what do the actual measuring. What do you want to know? Is it the temperature of your freezer, whether there is someone in the room, if the lights are on, whether some piece of equipment is running? Anyone can build a Sensor StaCCs sensor, so long as it follows the defined protocol.


This is what does the thinking. You choose the:

  • The configuration of the ports,

  • Sampling frequency & precision,

  • What it does in response to certain sensor values or other logic.

and it is automatically programmed from the cloud.

Power Packs

From small to large, you choose. Just plug it in, and we’ll tell you how long we expect it to last.

Cloud Connectors

SD / USB - upload data to your Sensor Stack account.

WiFi - automatically upload data to your Sensor Stack account.

ZigBee - Use a connect-port equivalent to send data to the cloud.

3G - Directly to the cloud from anywhere you have data service.


To send data to one of the ports, or to pull it from the cloud.
