New development project for the soil moisture sensor

Scott has initiated a new IoT development project for the soil moisture sensor, in collaboration with Connected Fields, a Montreal-based startup dedicated to providing sensing solutions for agriculture. Their motto is: Track and maintain real time water levels in your fieldScott also acts as senior IoT developer for Connected Fields. The main contact from the company is Gabriel Tessier (see link to website). 

SENSORICA's main role will focus on the optical transducer part of the optical moisture sensor. The goal is to create a new version that would satisfy the purposes of building a marketable product. (this is still under discussion)

There will be a budget of 
$3450 (subject to change) for this initiative, which will be distributed to all sensoricans who contribute. Open Access to benefits document.

2-weeks testing

Completed a full 2-weeks watering-drying cycle in a small pot. See update in the "FD-proto-moisture-sensor" document.

Initial testing

Performed initial testing of FD-Prototype. Over the course of almost 2 days, signal slightly increases. The sensor is very sensitive to ambient daylight as shown by the "bumps" on the graph.
