Building our prototyping and manufacturing network

SENSORICA is now going beyond R&D, to production, distribution and service. We are building a value network capable of delivering complete solutions!

For the last 2 months we have been very active in mapping our supply chain for our first products, the Mosquito Scientific Instrument, which incorporates the xyz piezo-based nanopositioner that can also be sold separately. We are also creating modules (software) for our infrastructure to manage the flow of materials within the value network, to support manufacturing.

We are now working hard to map manufacturing resources and to build a fast prototyping and manufacturing network that incorporates all the equipment and processes need for distributed and extreme manufacturing. The first breakthrough was an informal agreement to find a way to interface with Communautique, a group based in Montreal, which can contribute with space, CNC and 3D printing equipment. Echofab is part of this organization. The second breakthrough was another informal agreement mediated by Steve Bosserman to interface with the Columbus Idea Foundry (CIF). The CIF is also interested in testing and eventually using our new version of contribution accounting system

We are also expecting a loan that can go up to $90 K, which will be used in part for purchasing prototyping and manufacturing equipment, and for setting up an open fab space. This resource will be open to locals to work on individual projects and will constitute an interface between the SENSORICA value network and the local community, through which value will be exchanged. We expect that some independent users will also contribute to SENSORICA projects.
