The morning before the big meeting in Wooster Ohio: Tibi, Steve and other Greener Acres members.
I (Tibi) am back from Ohio after a series of meetings organized by Steve Bosserman, with members of Greener Acres and others, at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) in Wooster. I was there representing myself as an active member of Sensorica and as a bridge between Sensorica and Greener Acres. My primary interests in these meetings were to find new applications for our sensor technology and to expand our product ecosystem, to weave strong ties between Sensorica and Greener Acres, to help reinforce the position of Greener Acres in Ohio and on the web, and to find support in order to build and deploy a sound infrastructure for our value networks.
Closer to our concerns is the real possibility to develop new ventures to support a growing decentralized and localized food system. There is a unique opportunity now to develop and to deploy sensing and analysis technology for food quality control and water management. I am talking about different portable and user friendly devices that farmers and other agents in the local food system can use. I am also talking about a web-based infrastructure to collect, analyze, and to present data from these devices.
There is also a real possibility to develop systems for environmental applications.
A door at Ohio State University is now wide open for us. It's up to every one of us to decide how far we can go with this. Sensorica is open and decentralized, be creative, propose initiatives, start ventures, while respecting everyone's value and role within our group.
