Nondominium

The main objective of the Nondominium initiative is to build infrastructure to support the peer sharing economy, with plans to expand this to peer production (see the TrueCommons  initiative). The impact of Nondominium is manifold, but we can think of it in two ways:

• Boosting existing p2p initiatives: Ex. help open source hardware communities built around Fablabs and Makerspaces (referred to as open and collaborative spaces, or OCS). Nondominium reduces friction in the flow of resources between OCSs and TrueCommons transforms the loose global network of OCSs into a cohesive and tightly coordinated ecosystem.

• Helping traditional organizations in transition: Nondominim provides shared infrastructure to reduce transaction costs among traditional organizations for sharing resources and to engage in collaborative processes, while preserving their current structure.

Key features for the Nondominium hApp / infrastructure prototype:

• Organization agnostic representation of Resources as DHT entries on Holochain. 

• Proof-of-Concept implementation: Build and test a prototype of a distributed platform supporting Resource sharing under the nondominium property regime.

• A decentralized identity, role, reputation and credential system based on private participation receipts and capability secrets on Holochain.

• A programmable access / governance layer embedded in each Resource, implemented as a Holochain zome and DNAs.

• Process management: Support structured Economic Processes with role-based access control.

• Lifecycle support for Resources (creation to decommissioning).

• UI/UX principles that support stigmergic Resource flows.

By embedding governance into the digital substrate of Resources, we lay out the groundwork for a truly decentralized, peer sharing economy.
