Curation synthesis and publishing

Move collaborative activity around curation, synthesis and publication out of traditional web-based infrastructures, into p2p-friendly infrastructures. These new infrastructures must correspond to p2p and collaborative governance, methods, economic models, and culture.

For years, p2p practitioners have sought to build physical and digital environments to conduct their activities. Most of them gather on traditional digital platforms, which are not suitable for their ways of organizing and are not compatible with their culture. Today we see an explosion of p2p infrastructures that are maturing to a level of sophistication to sustain complex collaborative activities, but the field is still highly unstable, rapidly evolving.

Recently, we've witnessed a large scale purge of social media based on political considerations. For many, this is the last straw, and have started migrating out to alternative platforms that promised to respect privacy, data security and to limit censoring. Others like us, are still struggling to find new digital environments that also match our p2p practices and culture.

This initiative was born out of four coalescing struggles to fine new

• knowledge production platforms for open science

• new social production platforms for socially-oriented projects

• new (open and collaborative) media models, publishing, tackle the fake news problem

• new home for the p2p Foundation and all activities around it.
